Released in 2013, this Monograph discusses a proposal to re-set Sociology on a firmly grounded empirical base by fixing on theories of the middle range and their causes and mechanisms. One of the main analytic methods proposed by this initiative is the use of agent-based models. The major themes drawn out in the discussion are Analytical Sociology’s philosophical and sociological underpinnings and the apposite of agent-based models for many of the phenomena which ar addressed.
